Info
- Presenting Group: Group 1
- Presentation Topic: The Zero-Day Underground: How the Exploit Market Works
Learning and Engagement
- I learned that zero-day exploits are bought and sold by government agencies to spy on you.
- I learned that the government can tap into almost all devices, and sometimes governments tap into the same device.
- I learned that once a zero-day is public, it’s no longer valuable for spies and government agencies.
- I learned that most talented hackers were from Israel, and a lot of them were veterans from Israeli intelligence agencies.
Presentation Evaluation
Content Clarity
- Rating: 5
Comments
- I think that the content was clearly presented, and I think having us break out into separate groups for each chapter was helpful.
Depth
- Rating: 4
Comments
- I think the presentation showed mastery for the Jeopardy questions; but, I also think that having us break out into groups took away the focus from the group to us individually, and some of the groups didn’t explain their chapters too well, which kind of hindered my understanding.
Constructive Feedback
- I think that the competitiveness of the Jeopardy game was fun, and I think it made the class more interested in the topic because it introduced competition.
- I think something that could be improved is a possible overview after each presentation, so we can get the actual important ideas before the Jeopardy game, potentially.
Reflection
- I think that in a real security role, I would be careful of zero-day exploits, but I don’t know if there’s anything that you can really do to avoid them, other than not using technology at all.
- I think that I’ll remember the majority of the stuff from this presentation, specifically the stuff about how valuable zero-day exploits and scary that they are.
